Just for Future reference is the Vet Mr Attenborough who wrote this article the same Mr Attenborough who was the Vetinary Surgeon at St Davids Vet Practise in Exeter ?.
My Reason for Asking is that we have had Three cruciate ligament repairs done on three different mastiff by the Mr Attenborough at St Davids, all of which healed and mended fantastically to the extent that the dogs were never troubled by them again. The last cruciate repair was on my old bitch Blossom and we actually drove from South Wales down to Exeter purely to ensure the best treatment for her .Incidentally the St Davids Mr Attenborough owned a Doug de Bordeaux which is nearly a real Mastiff so he is used to our type of dog.
I note that this surgeon has an addresse in Edinburgh ,So if it is the same vet, then that will mean that we are driving up to Scotland should another cruciate problem arise ,I just wanted to know how far we are going to have to go .

Am afraid I don't know, when I wanted to update the cruciate information I visited several sites and was impressed with this one so wrote for permission to have a link.
I received a a very prompt reply and learnt I had met Mr Attenborough when we lived in Oxford, he contacted me by return asking if we were the same Says with mastiffs who lived at Nr Woodstock! as he remembered us when he was working at my old vets practise. small world!!
I would suggest you contact him, can't do any harm.
There are a lot of good surgeons out there and perhaps other owners might be in contact.
Personally I would only use a specialist.
cheers Lyn
